Ferrari Daytona For Sale

If you have come across the Ferrari Daytona for sale, you might be wondering how old this car is. Well, the Ferrari Daytona or the 365 GTB/4 as it was officially called was manufactured from 1968 to 1973. The Daytona name was actually given by the media to this car, and the car is considered a Gran Turismo (Grand Touring) vehicle. The predecessor of the Daytona was 275 GTB/4, and was replaced by the Berlinetta Boxer or the 365 GT4.

All 4 Wheels

Daytona is equipped with a Tipo 251 4.4 liters DOHC V12 engine, which delivered 352 hp at 7,500 rpm, and a torque of 318 ft-lb at 5,500 rpm. It could reach a top speed of 174 mph, and could accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds, which was quite impressive at that time. In a Ferrari Daytona for sale, you will find the older transaxle type of manual five-speed transmission, which is rear mounted. The front engine and rear mounting of the gearbox meant the weight was more evenly distributed. The suspension will be independent for the four wheels featuring coil springs and wishbones. There was an improvement in the brakes from the previous model, as the Daytona came with servo assisted ventilated disc brakes on all four wheels.

Variations of the coveted Daytona

Even though the Daytona had a Pininfarina design, it was a bit untraditional, since the car had very sharp edges and looked similar to a Lamborghini model of those times. Initially the Daytona models had fixed headlights, but later in 1971, these were changed to retractable headlights. Ferrari is known to have produced 1,406 Daytonas in different variations. Apart from the standard model, there were about 122 Spider models and 158 coupes with right hand drive.
A 1972 Ferrari Daytona for sale in Sera Blue is quite desirable. This coupe has matching leather interiors and some models have been fitted with nine-inch rear wheels. The Ferrari Daytona is a much-liked car even today, since it provides excellent performance, has a sporty interior, and a stunning profile. However, there are a few flaws as well. The air conditioning is quite poor, and the steering can be a bit strenuous.
From 2000 onwards up to late 2008, there was a sharp rise in the prices of Daytona models. During this time, there was also a high demand for Daytona parts. After 2008, the market has leveled out, since many refurbished Daytona models came into the market. The Ferrari Daytona is still one of the most sought after vehicles for collectors and car enthusiasts.
